VITRO Data Center receives additional international certifications for operational excellence
For leading business organizations, the International Organization for Standardization’s (ISO) industry standards has historically served as a blueprint for excellence. Companies the world over partner with ISO accreditation organizations just to undertake rigorous certification processes to gain market credibility.
Likewise in providing world-class managed data center solutions, PLDT ALPHA Enterprise and ePLDT partnered with the prestigious AJA Registrars in expanding the VITRO Data Center network’s numerous certification standards.
Expanding with Excellence
AJA Registrars are associated with the prestigious United Kingdom Accreditation Services (UKAS), and they led PLDT ALPHA Enterprise and ePLDT in taking the VITRO Data Center’s facilities and manpower through its paces throughout the rigorous certification audit processes. At its conclusion, VITRO’s three (3) sites were certified for four (4) ISO standards (previously, only VITRO Pasig was ISO-certified): ISO 20000-1:2011 IT Service Management System, ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System, ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System, and ISO 27001:2005 Information Security Management System.
It is the first time for the three VITRO Data Center sites– Pasig, Cebu, and Subic– to be certified for ISO 20000-1:2011. It is also the first time for VITRO Cebu and Subic to receive certifications for ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, and ISO 27001:2005. The process also renewed VITRO Data Center Pasig’s existing certifications for ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, and ISO 27001:2005, which now adds to its ISO 22301:2012 Business Continuity Management System certification.
The ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System certification sets the quality of service benchmark and confirms the VITRO Data Center network’s commitment to consistently provide solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations, as well as those of regulatory bodies.
Supporting the inherent need for utmost security at any VITRO Data Center, the ISO 27001:2005 Information Security Management System certification serves as the primary guideline in setting up the data center’s numerous security procedures.
Nowadays, a facility must consider its environmental impact as well as its standing commitments to quality customer satisfaction. The ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System certification guarantees that the VITRO Data Center operates with minimal waste and energy use.
The international standard for IT Service Management, ISO 20000-1:2011 provides the VITRO Data Center network with a framework for planning, implementation, and monitoring the services it delivers. Through this certification, the VITRO Data Center assures customers that solutions are built only on best practices in design and delivery.
AJA Registrars Vice President and General Manager Paul Bagatsing summarized VITRO’s continuous certifications efforts quite accurately. “These certifications represent PLDT ALPHA Enterprise’s and ePLDT’s past, present, and future,” he said. “These espouse the organizations’ constant movement towards continual improvement.”
Leaders and Winners
In appreciation for VITRO’s newly awarded certifications, ePLDT Chief Operating Officer Nerisse S. Ramos shared that “resiliency and reliability are highly integral to our operations. These certifications are thus testaments to our management and key personnel’s unceasing dedication to ensure all the key elements to provide true security for client mission-critical data housed within our data center.”
ePLDT Chief Technology Officer Dave Simon echoed this sentiment, noting the team’s commitment throughout the long certification process. “The team came together to evaluate current service management practices, and create a strategic service management delivery plan that provides the best value for our customers,” he stressed.
“The enterprise business is more and more becoming a business of trust,” added PLDT FVP and Head of PLDT ALPHA Enterprise Jovy Hernandez. “Attaining these additional ISO certifications reflect our commitment to deliver the highest level of service, to attain an unequaled level of professional integrity, and last but not least, to win customer trust.”
Finally, ePLDT President and CEO and PLDT EVP and Head of Enterprise, International, and Carrier Business Eric R. Alberto said, “These certifications are highly critical for the sustainability and leadership of our VITRO Data Centers. We are delighted to receive these certifications which serve as a validation for our customers that they can indeed entrust their data center, hosting, and ICT business to us.”
With these new and improved certifications, PLDT ALPHA Enterprise and ePLDT are confident that the VITRO Data Center is poised to become the champion of the regional data center arena.
